The foundation of Supply Chain Action Network™ (SCAN) is a true multi-company business model.

Unlike older supply chain management software, the SCAN™ architecture and business model were designed to fully leverage the Internet as a multi-company communications network.

There are two main sections to our business model: Parties and Products.

The Grocery Store, the Wholesale Bakery, the Ingredients and Packaging Suppliers are the 'parties' in the bread demo supply chain. Parties can have multiple locations and multiple departments.

The Bread-Retail Market, Baked Bread, Ingredients and Packaging are the 'Product Families' that we used in the bread demo. Product Families are groupings of products that share a similar manufacturing and distribution process.
