· Receives messages from SCWebPlanner™:
Receives action messages from SCWebPlanner™ using reliable
Internet messaging applications. The action messages instruct the
local planner about projected shortages in the planner's area of
responsibility.
· Provides Feasible Actions: Provides the planner with a
list of feasible corrective actions that can be taken in response
to the problem. These actions are specific to the nature of the
action message that was received.
· Sends actions back to SCWebPlanner™: The
execution of a corrective action - such as scheduling a
production run or cutting a purchase order, is communicated back
to SCWebPlanner™. Upon receipt SCWebPlanner™ can send an
action message to the trading partner involved and execute a
real-time update that will ripple across the supply chain.
